Lynch has a master's degree in Occupational Safety and Health from Marshall University. Prior to joining the Safety and Loss Control Unit, Lynch was Manager of Safety for Columbia Gas Transmission Corporation with 28 years experience in the oil and gas industry. In that job she was responsible for interpreting federal Department of Transportation requirements, overseeing the DOT/CDL Motor Carrier Safety programs, conducting pulmonary function tests, hearing conservation, eye and first aid programs and recommending safety equipment and reviewed all company automobile accident reports. Lynch developed safety policies and procedures and chaired Columbia's Safety Committee.
