SIU Case in Point

A 47-year-old employee worked as a truck driver and was operating a tractor/trailer combination loaded with scrap metal. He alleged multiple serious injuries as the result of an accident on the motor vehicle.

The Special Investigations Unit was asked to assist in gathering critical information regarding the circumstances of this incident so that appropriate, timely action could be taken in response to this claim. This investigation was able to produce reports and documentation that showed the injured employee was operating the tractor/trailer while having both alcohol and cocaine in his system.

Based on the evidence collected, BrickStreet was able to deny this claim. The estimated savings as a result of this investigation was $50,000.
