BrickStreet is once again a proud supporter of the Special Olympics WV 2008 Summer Games. This year's events will primarily be held at Laidley Field in Charleston on Friday, June 6, through Sunday, June 8. The opening ceremonies for this year’s games will be held Friday evening.
The 2008 Summer Games offer a special opportunity for volunteers to take part in the activities by assisting participants. BrickStreet employees already are signing up to volunteer, as so many of them did last year.
Special Olympics provides children and adults with developmental disabilities with year-round opportunities for sports training and competition. Their involvement in the program has a profound impact: it improves their health and physical well-being; it builds social confidence and increases self-esteem; it enables them to be recognized for their personal accomplishments no matter how great or small; and it provides opportunities for new friendships and improved family relationships.
